It was a rather wet and drizzly first visit for us to Fasque House - a rather stunning venue located near Fettercairn in South Aberdeenshire provided us with a rather moody atmosphere for Kate and Graham’s wedding on 16th June 2012.
Historically, Fasque Estate belonged to the Gladstone’s. The family of the four-time Prime Minister, William Ewart Gladstone bought the present house in 1829, twenty years after its completion. William was raised here, and was a frequent visitor in his adult life.
Kate and Graham hired the picturesque venue for the weekend, with a celebratory barbecue on the Friday night before the big day. But there could be no hangovers as bridal preparations started early on Saturday with Make-Up by Frances at Chicabelle and hair by Tracey Allan at De Milo. Kate looked perfectly stunning and even braved the weather to be escorted to the front entrance of the house before being piped down the aisle to the tune of Highland Cathedral. The drizzly weather unfortunately continued to worsen and even made the deer on the front lawn take shelter, so red carpets were pulled aside so we could use the beautiful interiors of Fasque for the bridal photographs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Fasque – and we were very privileged and delighted to be part of Kate and Grahams Wedding. We look forward to working with you both designing your album and hope you have a fantastic honeymoon.
