Vanessa and David booked their dream wedding in one of Scotland’s most enchanting Glen’s. Choosing stunning Drumtochy Castle and St Palladius Church for their wedding in late June would have been a fairly safe bet you would think for at least a dry day. However, June 2012 is now being debated as the wettest June on record and to say it was raining heavily would be an understatement.
And so we set off rain jackets, wellies and umbrellas packed, with a plan of many wonderful interior bridal photographs we could do within Drumtochty. This was far from ideal for us but we knew it would be almost impossible to photograph in such a downpour; not that it would be impossible for us – but we understand that for the Bride the all important dress, hair and make-up may be compromised.
However, Vanessa and David are no ordinary newly weds… for them there was no backing out of the muddy puddles and midge-ridden air (Julie the piper proof of this suffering a proud 37 midgie bites). They had travelled up from Northamptonshire especially to enjoy their Scottish Wedding and umbrellas and welly boots were the new rule of the day. Thanks to the weather and couple, the collection of photographs they have of their big day are some of the most wonderfully atmospheric that we have ever taken at Drumtochty Castle. Their day seemed perfect and full of love and laughter along with their family and friends. And we’re pleased to say that the rain never dampened their spirits.
Vanessa and David, thank you so much for being such wonderful sports and we hope you love your photographs as much as we do.
