The forecast was snow for our first wedding of the year, and the dusting of snow was just what Arlene and Andrew had dreamed of for their 2-2-13 wedding. Arlene was stunning in her beautiful ‘new’ Maggie Sottero ’Lorie’ gown, a ‘borrowed’ fine detailed embroidered lace vail (from a friend) and those famous ‘something blue’ Manolo Blahniks shoes! Although the Hunter wellies did come in handy for the snowy Bennachie photograph as well.
Both Arlene and Andrew braved the freezing temperatures and we had great fun photographing them at St Machars Cathedral - (the bride was on time), and afterwards at the scenic Pittodrie House Hotel in Chapel of Garioch (thankfully we’re still not waiting for Scott the best man!).
I’ve always loved black and white photography. Something special about how it directs the viewer straight to the subject without distraction, a timeless presentation. Up until now a purely black and white book/album printed solely on textured fine art papers has been a dream, but thanks to Queensberry the dream has come true. Queensberry have a brilliant new product called ‘Press Books’. As the name suggests the books are press printed allowing the photographer to create a high end book using numerous different paper stocks and a wide range of cover options. The press books are a more affordable option to the traditional Queensberry album and are an excellent add on to the wedding package or portrait session. If you are looking for something a little different and practical then the Press Book is for you.
The images below show the actual book design, all in black and white, all illustrating the beautiful emotion on this wonderful wedding day.
